SKIING: THE PREFERRED WINTER ACTIVITY IN CHAMONIX
With its world-renowned ski areas, skiing is the favourite wintertime activity in Chamonix. Downhill skiing, ski touring, cross-country skiing and Nordic skiing are all available at Chamonix.
Are you a thrill-seeker? Then head for the Grands-Montets or the Brévent - Flégère domains. If, on the other hand, you're looking for something a little easier to start with, the Balme, Planards and Savoy domains will welcome you with complete peace of mind. The piste map will help you visualize this immense playground.

Thanks to the Aiguille du Midi cable car, you can reach the summit at an altitude of 3842 metres in just twenty minutes. From the summit, you can admire the French, Swiss and Italian Alps and the majestic Mont Blanc. There are plenty of places to learn more about the high mountains.
During your visit to Chamonix, you should also take the Montenvers cogwheel train to discover the Mer de Glace. Thanks to its ice grotto, you can immerse yourself in the interior of the glacier.
